Guildford Harley Davidson

This week has been an exciting one for us here at Virtual Vue, we completed a very large project for Guildford Harley Davidson!

We have been hard at work compiling an interactive web page, including a virtual tour of Harley Davidson’s showroom based in Guildford, 360 degree interactive media of their best custom bikes, as well as galleries, videos and other fun interactive media to keep you entertained, whether you are an avid Harley fanatic, or pure novice, this site is for you!

We would like to thank Guildford Harley Davidson for being so accommodating to us during our shoot and development process, and of course our hard working developing team!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have left hospital with their son, one day after he was born.

Prince William and Catherine emerged from St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, West London at 19:13 BST, giving the waiting media and the world their first glimpse of the future king.

Addressing crowds outside, Prince William said his son had his wife's "looks" and "a good pair of lungs".

Well done Murray! What a great result at the weekend!

Andy Murray won his first Wimbledon title and ended Britain's 77-year wait for a men's champion with a hard-fought victory over world number one Novak Djokovic.

The Scot, 26, converted his fourth championship point in a dramatic final game to win 6-4 7-5 6-4 and claim his second major title.
In an atmosphere reminiscent of his  Olympic final win last summer, Murray was willed on by the majority of the 15,000 spectators on Centre Court, thousands watching on the nearby big screen and millions more around the country.

Some of the Vue Group team were lucky enough to be in Centre Court to witness the moment he won!

This week at Virtual Vue we came across this incredible time-lapse video, composed by Teehan+Lax, a company who explore the creative uses of technology in the digital channel.  They used Google street view to capture a journey in stills, which they stitched together to create this really effective, unique time-lapse. Check it out here:

Michelle Chaplow spoke at the TEDx event in Marbella in March 2013, alongside such top names as Michelin-starred chef and international restaurateur Dani Garcia. Her chosen theme was The Importance of Photography for Luxury Hotels and Destinations.

To illustrate (literally) the keynote speech Michelle choose Andalucia, Spain as her featured destination, explaining that on the world-class tourism stage, this region - which is full of stunning natural attractions and historic monuments - needs to send out strong visual messages. Michelle explained how good visuals make a huge difference in terms of creating an image for hotels and destinations, especially in today’s mobile multi-media world. She was delighted to talk about the photography subjects for which she has great passion: hotels and travel. Michelle’s talk was well received, with excellent feedback from many quarters.

"Michelle Chaplow, photographer, illustrated her talk with photos used to lesser or greater effect in advertising materials, proving beyond doubt that good photography can make all the difference when it comes to promoting hotels or holiday destinations".

virtual tour of london

This week at Virtual Vue we came across this incredible virtual tour of London.  Photographers set a world record for the larges panoramic photo with an amazing 320 gigapixel, 360 degree interactive image of London.

The images were shot on the 29th floor of the British Telecommunications tower soon after the 2012 London Olympic Games.

This tour consists of over 48,000 still images stitched together over a space of three months to create a 98 meter wide; 24 meter tall panoramic to be used as the virtual tour.

The clarity of this tour is incredible and allows you to zoom up to an impressive 20 miles away, whilst still keeping the resolution crystal clear.

If you want to take a look, you can view it here on the BT website:

This week here at Virtual Vue we came across a fantastic virtual tour taken by photographer Gerald Donovan of the city of Dubai from on top of the Burj Khalifa building.   This gigapixel tour consists of 48 panoramic images each with a resolution of 80 megapixels!

This remarkable achievement from Donovan is a fantastic advertisement for virtual tours, and shows that they are becoming increasingly more in demand.  Donovan taking virtual tours to this level could mean a whole new realm for interactive photography, and who knows this form could be the new way we explore the world; at the click of a finger!

Composed of over 70 individual photos, it recreates the view Tom Cruise made famous as he sat at the tower’s peak during the filming of Mission Impossible Four, ‘Ghost Protocol’.

Virtual Vue have recently been commissioned to create a stunning marketing package for Chesterton Humberts in central London. This included a fully immersive Virtual Tour, a still high definition photo shoot, and a fully detailed floor plan.

The prestigious £2.5 million property is prime London real estate and required an outstanding job to capture the penthouse apartment in its best light.

After consideration, it was decided that to create maximum impact and truly stand out for the competition, a twilight shoot would be the best option.

The results are spectacular, with views of the city and the London eye, Virtual Vue certainly did it justice.
